Almost 2 centuries of traditional British craftmanship
Albert Thurston is the oldest manufacturer of trouser braces and is credited with making the first modern braces in 1820 which he sold from his fashion emporium in London's Haymarket. These original braces used leather loops to fasten to buttons sewn on the waistband. Albert Thurston Limited are still hand crafting these beautiful suspenders in the UK today.
Albert Thurston braces have featured in many movies, including Leap of Faith with Steve Martin and Wall Street with Michael Douglas.
Today the range includes many beautiful styles all of which are made using traditional techniques and which feature top quality elastic and/or ribbon and fitting
